Suspended Jail Term for PAD Supporter

The red-shirt protesters supporter in first half of this year is the result of the protest of yellow-shirt supporters from two years ago. So I search news form Bangkok Post about yellow-shirt supporters, and found about the court hearing for the protesters who rallied in front of the parliament at that time.

Preecha Treecharoon, People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) supporter who gathered in front of the parliament. He was among PAD supporters when the police fired tear gas at them. He injured five policemen while trying to get away in a pick-up truck. He was arrested and prosecuted for attempted murder and was sentenced to three years and a half in prison. But the jail sentence is suspended for two years as he has never committed a crime before.

I think the court is not neutral. He tries to kill five people. So why does he get only three years jail term? What about 17 UDD leaders? In my opinion, all of them are guilty but I feel like the court are biased and unfair.

UDD Leaders Court Hearing

On the first half of this year (around March to June) there have many bad things occurred in Thailand. The famous news is the assembly of red-shirt in the business area of Bangkok. I read the new from Bangkok Post and It shows the consequence of their action. Actually, this news is sensitive topic. The truth of this story is still vague and not really clear. Moreover, the news comes from the different source.

The prosecution files charges against 19 leaders and supporters of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) for terrorism. Two defendants don't attend the hearing because they are protected by parliamentary privilege. The prosecution files the indictments accusing the 19 UDD leaders of committing terrorist acts, illegal assembly, staging armed unrest, defying a legal order to end illegal activities, and violating the emergency decree. The 17 defendants deny all charges against them and will fight the case in court.

The red-shirt supporters rally in Bangkok about three months. It destroys the country in many ways and also have many effect to Thai people. The business zone of Bangkok is ruined. The event also claims many lives. Now, the chaos has ended. There is an attempt to fond someone or some group to take responsibility. I think the answer is too clear. No one takes responsibility of this event.

Fashion Fair Planned to Help Speed Up Sales

The consequence of the political unrest is our country has bad image to other country and the economy problems. So, the news that I chose from Bangkok Post is the one way to solve this problem.

The Commerce Ministry will join with CentralWorld, Siam Paragon and leading local brand owners launch the campaign "Thailand Fashion Expo in October" for help further improve business in the Ratchaprasong area of central Bangkok as it recovers from the political unrest. With 50 million baht in government funding, it will include business matchmaking between domestic brands and foreign buyers, and exhibitions of leading local products. The fair would have two world-renowned designers joined as guest speakers. The two designers will also showcase their work at the event. Ms Westwood will launch her Vivienne Westwood Gold Label London-Bangkok collection, featuring handmade Thai silk from a project supported by Her Majesty the Queen. It also has a designer competition reality show will be broadcast on Channel 9.

When I read this story, I do agree with the government that launch a good campaign. I am the one who love fashion, so I am glad to hear the news like this after we met the politic trouble. I think it may help the economy more or less.

Eight Companies Consider 3G Bids

3G or 3rd Generation is a generation of standards for mobile phones services fulfilling specifications by the International Telecommunication Union. Application services include wide-area wireless voice telephone, mobile Internet access, video calls and mobile TV. A 3G system use of speech. I have read the news from Bangkok Post, the news is talk about eight companies bought bid documents for the 3G licence, so I chose this news because it good to know Thailand will have a 3g signal.

The National Telecommunications Commission opened sales the 3G licence. No foreign companies applied in light of the regulator's recent declaration that it intended to curb "foreign dominance" in the sector. But of the eight applicants, two will have Asian telecom operators as their strategic partners. The applicants are Advanced Info Service (AIS), Total Access Communication (DTAC), and True Move and SK Wireless - a subsidiary of parent True Corp. Samart I-Mobile and Loxley are providing 3G services for TOT. However, only five companies will be eligible to submit bids as the major three mobile operators must decide to use only one entity each for bidding.

In my view, I agree with them that the 3G will be used in Thailand. On the other hand, they do not have the exact conclusion who will have occupy it. However, I want Thai people to growth as other countries.

Offsetting Environmental Impact

According to the latest post, global warming, is a serious problem that we should to realize. The news that I read from Bangkok Post that talk about the one company which is cultivating social and environmental awareness among its staff and people in the country. So, I should this story because it is a good campaign to preserve our world by planting trees.

This tree planting project is quite different from other tree planting campaigns. It is the direct cause and effect of its business activities. Planting tens of thousands of trees is not a big deal, but the most question is why do we need to plant these trees? the answer is we have to offset the environmental impact caused by its business manufacturing process and consumption of natural resources. To prevent further deforestation, they use rubber trees that are waste or unwanted by-products from the rubber tapping industry. They needed to cultivate social and environmental awareness among its staff members. For the third continuous year, the company has continued to plant trees at Khao Krajom, a lush forest area in Suan Phung district in Ratchaburi province. This year, the activity was held on July 4. The staffs and villagers take part in the tree planting campaign.

In my view, I do agree with the great campaign. It is a good way to work together between staffs in the company and villagers. It is a social responsibility because It is not individual problem, but it is our problem. We must thank you the company that launched this project for us with a simply way to protect our lovely world.

Sea Turtles Hatch in Chiang Mai

The problem that occurs with our world is Global Warming. This issue could have a serious consequence for the humans and animals. A simple way for us to take care our world is turn off the lights that you don't use it, plant trees, and don't use plastic bags. So, I read the news from Bangkok Post. It's about the sea turtles hatched in plateau area (Chiang Mai). It is interesting to see how they live in the different area and it is a good news for us which they have a way to conservation of endangered marine animals.

At Chiang Mai Zoo, it is first time endangered marine animals have been hatched in a mountainous area. The eggs are part of a turtle festival which is cooperation between Chiang Mai Zoo and the navy’s Sea Turtle Conservation Centre. The festival was arranged to encourage people to get involved in conservation efforts. The conservation centre will nourish the newly hatched turtles for five to six months before return them to their home. It takes a long time because they want to make sure that the turtles can survive. The male turtles will be hatched more than female. It is because of the cooler weather, and this is good for the conservation.

When I read this story, I do agree with the Officers. The sea turtles nearly become an endangered marine animals. They have the way to do, and we should participate with them. However, it is not only sea turtle, but I mean our friend animals.

Social Networking Website

According to the latest post, the internet is one of several ways of communication Facebook, website that becoming popular, is a social networking website. As I am the one who have Facebook account. So, it is an interesting news which I read from the Bangkok Post. it tells me how does Facebook develop to be as a famous website.

Based on the news, t
he company named "Ihab Media", the exclusive sales partner of Facebook in Asia, officially set up its in Thailand. It is a social network that growing up rapidly. Facebook has more than 500 million users. In my country, it has 4.5 million Facebook users. The average of Thai users are from the 18-34 age group. There are two models of branded communication on Facebook which is owned media and earned media. There also have two online advertising service. It called homepage Ad and Ad Space Unit. The homepage Ad, customers will receive the engagement rates so that they can know the action rates of the engagement ads (video comment, fan, virtual gift, event and poll). The top fan pages in Thailand include GTH, Starbucks, G Members, KBank and Oishi. The company had signed contracts with 10 advertisers such as Sony, Suzuki Automobile, AIS, KBank, and a consumer product company which is now in the on-going contract last two months ago.

In my case, I did not contact with my elementary friends for an age and I found their pages in Facebook, so we keep contact and continue our friendship. However, we should use it in the correct way.
