The show named is The Ramakien epic will launch on July 23 to 25 at the Thailand Cultural Centre's main hall. The weekdays shows are at 7:30pm, with a matinee at 2pm show on weekends. Two more shows on July 26 at 10am and 3pm are for students only. Tickets are 1,000, 800, 600 and 400 baht. Directed by Pramet Boonyachai, this year khon performance is influenced by the various patterns of dance and music from a Thai orchestra during the reign of King Rama VI. Demon King Thotsakan, Princess Benjakai, will be a spy and abducted Princess Sita. The perfect combination of melodies, lyrics and dialogues is mainly derived from a script composed by Prince Naris, the dubbings penned by King Rama II, as well as dialogue written by National Artist Seri Wangnaitham.
When I read this news, I do agree with the directer. We should preserve it for the future generation because it is a traditional arts performance. I feel like the traditional culture will fade away.
